Google makes sure to stay in news and a few days ago it has rolled out a targeted data update for its recently released penguin algorithm (anti webspam update). It is widely known as the Penguin update 1.1 which was announced by Matt Cutts via twitter, which appears to effect less than 0.1 percent of the English searches accordingly to him (head of Google’s webspam team).
However, there were speculations going on in the market that there might have been updates which were released earlier for the penguin update, but Matt has made clear that this is the first update made to the penguin webspam after its release. This new version on the penguin is not being seen as a completely new update, but is rather mentioned as a refresh.
More Google did mention that those sites affected with the penguin update would not be considered, if a reconsideration application has been sent from the Webmaster central, but as known they did provide a feedback form.
